Tom Mills 

Tom graduated from the University of Kansas in 1990 with a degree in business administration.  He earned his law degree in 1994 from the University of Kansas Law School.

 
He practiced law for two years in Kansas City with the firm of Armstrong, Teasdale, Schlafly, and Davis before joining Ascent in 1996.  Tom’s prior work experience includes employment at the NFL Players Association and with the Kansas City Chiefs.  In his career as an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, Tom has negotiated over $200 million in NFL player contracts. 
 
Tom recently served on the NFLPA’s drafting committee for the examination given to prospective player agents.  He also is a frequent guest lecturer at graduate and law schools in the area, focusing primarily on contract negotiations in sports. 
 
He lives in Lafayette , Colorado , with his wife, Sue, and daughters, Holly and Grace. 


Mark Slough
Mark Slough is one of the most respected agents in professional sports. His unique relational approach makes him highly effective in representing his clients. Mark has direct connections and long-term relationships with general managers, coaches and scouts. In addition, he remains on the cutting edge in marketing his clients to the media and corporate entities. He is often called on by major media outlets to discuss issues in the world of professional sports. A professional agent since 1999, Mark has represented a variety of clients including entertainment professionals, coaches and professional players in football, baseball, and basketball.
 
In 1995, in the midst of a highly successful eleven year career in banking and finance, Mark walked away to pursue his dream of becoming a professional agent. In 1997 he received his Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration from Baylor University. He then joined one of the country's most respected law firms, Fulbright & Jaworski, in San Antonio, Texas, where he specialized in real estate and corporate law. Thereafter, Mark founded Momentum Sports Group in San Antonio and served as a partner in Charter Management Group in Nashville.

Mark received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Abilene Christian University in 1984. He and his wife, Beth, have two sons Austin and Ryan and live in Dallas, TX.


Kevin Robinson
After playing running back and defensive back at Columbia University in New York, Kevin received his law degree from the University of Colorado. He was awarded the Colorado Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship, among others, before later receiving the Phil Fusco Award for Academics, Athletics, and Fellowship at Columbia.
 
While excelling in academics, Kevin was also an All-Ivy League football selection. Kevin has also worked at J.P. Morgan on Wall Street, as a financial analyst at Allstate Insurance Company's regional office, and as an attorney at the law firm of Burg, Simpson, Eldridge, Hersh, and Jardine before joining ASM. Kevin's combination of financial acumen and legal expertise make him a versatile agent for professional athletes.

He resides in Denver Colorado, where he has two children, Xavier and Khamel.

Jack Mills
Jack holds both a bachelor's degree in accounting and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma. After serving two years in the U.S. Army performing intelligence operations, Jack was hired as an assistant athletic director by the University of Colorado.
 
After a year at C.U., he entered the private practice of law and has specialized in sports law for more than 40 years. His practice primarily emphasizes football, but he has also represented clients in hockey, basketball, baseball, golf, skiing, and wrestling. He is a member of the American, California, and Colorado Bar associations. He is a Director and past President of the Sports Lawyers Association and serves on the Agents Advisory Committee to the NFL Players Association.

In addition to Jack's legal practice, he teaches a course in Sports Law at the University of Colorado School of Law and is on the Board of Directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Colorado. In 1993, the National Sports Law Institute presented Jack with the Joseph E. O'Neill award, in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of sports law, ethics, and integrity. He resides in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife, Cirrelda. They have three children and seven grandchildren.

 

 
Matt Striegel 
Matt is an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor and is licensed to practice law in Colorado.  Matt received his law degree, with honors, from the University of North Dakota in 2006, where he was also elected law school President. Prior to attending law school, Matt played cornerback and wide receiver at Highland Community College (KS), North Dakota State University, and Lane College (TN). At Highland, Matt was elected team captain, named the most valuable defensive back, and was selected to play in the Junior College All-American Bowl, where he was named the Most Valuable Player. After junior college, Matt received numerous full-ride Division I scholarship offers. Matt graduated, with honors, from Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, in 2002.
 
Prior to joining Ascent, Matt worked as an attorney at the law firm of Ritsema and Lyon, P.C. in downtown Denver, Colorado, where he represented employers and professional sports teams in various legal matters.  Matt is also an Adjunct Sports Management Lecturer at the University of Denver.  He is a frequent guest speaker at Universities and Law Schools around the country.  Matt’s football experience, coupled with his broad legal knowledge, makes him an excellent advocate and advisor for clients of Ascent Sports & Entertainment. Matt resides in Denver, Colorado.

 
Ryan Downey
Ryan received his law degree from the University of Denver after doing his undergraduate work in business at the College of William and Mary. While at William and Mary he competed in track and field and cross country and was a multiple All-Conference award winner. Ryan's athletic focus shifted to the sport of triathlon after his graduation and he currently has his eye on the 2012 Olympic trials.
 
His professional career started while he was still in college as he served as the director of marketing for a semi-pro soccer team in Williamsburg, Virginia. He took a job as the general manager of an A-League soccer team right after graduation.  After spending six months working in the Denver Broncos organization, Ryan was hired by the law firm of Larson & Larimer, P.C. in his final year in law school.  He worked as an attorney specializing in business and civil litigation and has been an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor for 3 years.
 
Ryan joined Ascent Sports in the summer of 2009 and works as an NFL agent from his office in Orange County, CA

 
Brent Seebohm
Brent is the Marketing Services Director for Ascent Sports & Entertainment.  He manages all aspects of Ascent clients’ marketing and endorsement careers.  Brent is a Colorado State University business school graduate and earned his master’s degree in sports management at Wichita State University.  He began his career in the CSU football equipment room in August 1991, and then assisted video operations and recruiting before advancing into the collegiate marketing and corporate sponsorships area in 1995.  Brent worked with the Major League Baseball All-Star Game and Colorado Rockies for former Ascent football client, now Rockies President Keli McGregor.  He then spent eight total years managing the football marketing and multimedia rights for Fresno State, University of Memphis, and the University of Arizona.  Brent has structured many large multiyear corporate marketing deals with major corporations, including:  Verizon Wireless, Toyota, FedEx, AutoZone, Gatorade, State Farm, and Coca-Cola. 
 
Prior to starting his own marketing & sports consulting company in 2009, Brent worked as a VP/GM and west coast Regional VP with IMG College for two years.  He served as National President for the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators, representing 325 universities, after a five-year NACMA Board of Directors term.  He is also a board member and fundraiser for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Brent resides in Arizona and Colorado.

 

Joe Hill
Joe graduated from Columbia University in 1994.  While at Columbia University, he earned All-Ivy honors as a defensive back after leading the team in both tackles and interceptions.  Joe was also awarded Columbia University Football Team’s Unsung Hero Award for his contributions on and off the field, including his volunteer work for the undergraduate admissions office.

Following his undergraduate work, Joe accepted an Indiana University Law School Fellowship.  He graduated with his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington in 1997.  Joe currently serves as Ascent’s director of East Coast recruiting.  He is very active in the football community throughout the eastern portion of the U.S.

Joe currently resides in Delaware with his wife Michele, son Kasim and daughter Kaylah.

 

Steve Pierce
Steve works in the baseball division at Ascent Sports. He was born and raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from Northeastern Illinois University. Steve began his sports career working in marketing for numerous players with the Chicago Cubs. He has been a MLB sports agent since the early 1980's. Steve has represented numerous Major League Baseball players including Jeff Reed (17 years), Jim Gott, Jerome Walton, Curt Schilling, and Dave Dravecky. Steve has key relationships with many MLB General Managers and scouting directors. His office is located in Scottsdale, AZ.
